UPDATED Ballot Clarification
All retired pilots should by now have received ballots for their claims for retiree benefits. They may have received a ballot in more than one class. Retired pilots will have received a separate mailing for each class of claim they hold. Those mailings will include one or more of the following:
(a) If they own stock, a mailing with no ballot. The plan proposes to distribute nothing to shareholders on account of their stock interests in Delta, and therefore all shareholders are deemed to have rejected the plan and do not vote. Delta has nevertheless sent all shareholders a "nonvoting package" so that they will have information about the confirmation process This was the lightest package and probably arrived first.
(b) A mailing with a Class Five ballot, if they have a claim for lost medical or non-qualified pension benefits in an amount greater than $2,000.00 but less than or equal to $100,000.00.
(c) A mailing with a Class Four ballot, if they have a claim for lost medical or non-qualified pension benefits in an amount greater than $100,000.
(d) A mailing with a Class Six ballot, if they have a claim for lost medical or non-qualified pension benefits in an amount of $2,000.00 or less.
Please note that you are entitled to vote once in each class in which you hold a claim, so if you received both a Class Four and a Class Five ballot, you are entitled to vote both of them. Also, Delta has separately generated ballots for lost medical benefits and lost non-qualified pension benefits. It is possible that you may receive two ballots in the same class, one for lost medical and one for non-qualified pension benefits. You are entitled to vote both ballots in the same class. Your vote will only count once in that class, but it will be counted in the total dollar amount of all your claims in that class.
Please note that the deadline for balloting is April 9, 2007.
